![]() I guess if the 18 wasn't here, then the L09 fretboard shape wouldn't be noticeable. Still extremely playable and enjoyable, but not quite like the 18. As far as the fretboard goes, my D18 seems to have the perfect fretboard for me, and the Larrivee seems just a little - flat or something. I LOVE playing fingerstyle on this one - Impeccable fit and finish, rich and true tones, not too much sustain, very comfortable to play in seated position due to body shape/depth, and great balance across the sound spectrum. Jul 08, 2020My Larrivee is a stellar guitar as well, but as someone already said it is not a Martin. but if I had to choose between, say, a GPC28 or an L09 - I'd probably go with the L09 because of the richness of tone and the wonderful Larrivee fingerstyle sound. ![]() well, it's gotta be the Martin - it's the one I grab when I play a club and HAVE to have my best sound (also somewhat of a security blanket when performing). If I had to pick one as my go-to-grave guitar. My Larrivee is a stellar guitar as well, but as someone already said it is not a Martin. Between an Eastman, a Sigma, a Recording King, and a Blueridge, I like the Eastman. A very nice sound (no, contrary to every Eastman owner's argument, it does not sound 'just like a Martin'. I hear the Eastman soundboards are 2 mm or so thicker, which would affect resonance. ![]() The all get played every day, and They are ALL outstanding guitars - the Martin has the Martin sound and great resonance, of course - the Eastman is very close to the 000-28 except that the 000 is a lighter build than the E8.
